Make your own Animal spice collage. You will need thick paper base, glue and spices such as cinnamon sticks, cardamoms, nutmeg, cloves pepper pods etc.
Google these spices and compare them with our local herbs/spices.

Make your own photostory using the theme of Indonesian animals. Your story should have a moral value. Then present the story to the class.

Do a video clip on “Reflection of an Indonesian animal”. Incorporate animal pictures and sounds.

Run an Indo nesian animal poster competition open to the whole school.
It can be on endangered animals and has to be uploaded on to the Ultranet or College network.

Instructions for teachers

  • Students are allowed to work individually, in pairs or in groups whilst working on the above tasks.
  • Students are free to select any activity of their choice but a minimum of one activity has to be chosen from each level (horizontal).
  • Students must accumulate a minimum of 100 points.
  • Students must use as much Indonesian language as possible in all their work – discussions, labels, descriptions, writing.
  • Students need to bring in all their Indonesian books /dictionaries while working on this assignment.
  • All work is to be well researched and kept mainly in a digital portfolio.
  • Work is to be submitted in stages via Edmodo classroom blog moderated by the teacher.
  • Assessment will be ongoing as well as grading of the end products.
  • Assessment will be by teacher and peer critique.
  • Assessment will be on the following areas: listening, speaking, reading, writing, knowledge and use of Web 2.0 technologies and Intercultural understanding.
  • Students are encouraged to speak in Indonesian while working on their tasks.
  • Students will skype with their partner schools in Indonesia
